Here is Mr. Molloy’s weekly challenge:

Dribble and bounce drill

  1. You need a ball, 8 socks, a friend, a stopwatch.
  2. Set 6 of the socks out in a diagonal pattern about 4 steps in between each. Make a goal out of the remaining 2 socks approximately 6 steps apart and ten steps away from your cones. Take it in turns with your friend to be the goalie.
  3. Dribble the ball between the cones using your outside foot between each cone and when you reach the end try a shot at the goals.
  4. Swap positions with your friend and let them have a go.
  5. Then time your circuits and see who can get the best time out of 5 attempts.
  6. Then place the goal at the other side of the diagonal and dribble again this time using your other foot and try a shot now with your weaker foot. Take 5 attempts and see can you improve your time with each attempt
  7. Junior and senior infants can run and bounce the ball at each cone.
  8. Best of luck and keep practising.

Here are some photos of what’s happening at the school this week:

The staff room and the office are being made into one room so here is the office before it was emptied:

And after:

The new offices will be where the boiler house and Mrs. Walsh’ room (aka the shop) used to be:

Sixth class is getting new toilets because the entrance to the new building is where the old toilets were. It had to be emptied:

But most importantly of all the foundations for our new Autism Unit are being dug:
