Here is Mr. Molloy’s weekly challenge:
Dribble and bounce drill
- You need a ball, 8 socks, a friend, a stopwatch.
- Set 6 of the socks out in a diagonal pattern about 4 steps in between each. Make a goal out of the remaining 2 socks approximately 6 steps apart and ten steps away from your cones. Take it in turns with your friend to be the goalie.
- Dribble the ball between the cones using your outside foot between each cone and when you reach the end try a shot at the goals.
- Swap positions with your friend and let them have a go.
- Then time your circuits and see who can get the best time out of 5 attempts.
- Then place the goal at the other side of the diagonal and dribble again this time using your other foot and try a shot now with your weaker foot. Take 5 attempts and see can you improve your time with each attempt
- Junior and senior infants can run and bounce the ball at each cone.
- Best of luck and keep practising.
